Fandom: Little Woman
Character/Pairing: Josephine March
Word Count: 306
Summary: "I often think I should like to [run away], especially since my hair was cut, so if you ever miss us, you may advertise for two boys and look among the ships bound for India."
Why I Rec This Fic: Trans Jo!
Jo March has been growing his hair long.
Title: drive me crazy half the time by icouldbuildacastle
Fandom: Little Woman
Character/Pairing: Josephine March, Amy March, Josephine March & Amy March,
Word Count: 738
Summary: "Jo had a strong suspicion that it was less to do with growing up, and more to do with living in different houses that had helped her relationship with Amy. Much like how Teddy would drive her mad if she had to live with him, although he was her dearest friend. Well, perhaps that was why Amy and Laurie were so well-suited."
For all their quarrels, Amy and Jo excelled at being neighbors.
Why I Rec This Fic: Amy and Jo are very similar which is half the problem, the relationship is happy like this but also realistic.
With Laurie
Title: Playing House by Canon_Is_Relative
Fandom: Little Woman
Character/Pairing: Theodore Laurence/Elizabeth March
Theodore Laurence, Elizabeth March
Word Count: 100
Summary: They call it playing house.
Title: Frost and Flowers by Beth Harker (chiana606)
Fandom: Little Woman
Character/Pairing: Elizabeth March, Josephine March, Josephine March&Elizabeth March, Josephine March&Theodore Laurence
Word Count: 541
Summary: “Beth gets a postcard that helps her understand why Jo turned down Laurie's proposal.“
Why I Rec This Fic: Beth is very relatable to me, and her mindset that values finding and sharing little beauty and joys in the world is hopeful and comforting.
Beth could sew big, clumsy peonies onto any surface she wished. It was the kind of thing that made people smile, even if it was stupid and childish coming from a woman of nineteen, who might well have a household to run if life hadn't gotten away from her.
Title: make my own way by detective_terrible_detective
Fandom: Little Woman
Character/Pairing: Theodore Laurence, Amy March, Theodore Laurence/Amy March
Word Count: 1101
Summary: "They never have children. Neither of them are the type of people that do (or should). They are content with their simple existence, full of paint and laughter and music and love, all the gaps and cracks filled with each other."
Why I Rec This Fic: In the 2019 movie there is that line about "just because my dreams are different than yours it doesn’t make them less" but i think the line is weaken by ending with the same kind of married with children ending for each (living) sister, and this just also feels more in line with their characters. The whole concept of Amy getting what she wants just makes me happy, her ambition/will of survival is such a interesting, wonderful character trait but it nearly cost her a lot too and I am happy she matures and finds this for herself again. I like that she is allowed to be angry and not forgive her family.
Title: Something Splendid by thelittlestbird
Fandom: Little Woman
Character/Pairing: Theodore Laurence/Amy March, Amy March, Theodore Laurence.
Word Count: 2308
Summary: “Go and do something splendid that will make her love you.”
Why I Rec this Fic: Amy is wonderful in this fic, way more then an ornament to society, she is searching for her future, growing up to a better truer version of herself and she sees beauty in the world and art and shares that with Laurie, its the kind of falling in love that i like to read about, viva sharing pieces that are important to eachother, pieces about how they relate to the world around them.
I’ll never be Mendelssohn, and certainly not Mozart. That kind of genius may be gone from the world forever. And even if it isn’t, it certainly isn’t in me. So I suppose I just have to be Laurie as hard as I can, and as well as I can. But I still don’t know what that means, or how I can do it.

Before I thought I wanted to teach art, I thought I wanted to be an artist, and before that, I just thought that I wanted to be rich. But that isn’t enough, of course. Shouldn’t money be put to work too, like our minds and bodies are? It can help other people reach their destinations. We remember Michelangelo, but we remember the Medici for encouraging and inspiring him. There’s something grand in that, too.
Title: the march girls by firstaudrina
Fandom: Little Woman
Character/Pairing: Theodore Laurence/Josephine March, Theodore Laurence/Amy March, Theodore Laurence/Margaret March, Theodore Laurence/Elizabeth March
Theodore Laurence, Elizabeth March, Josephine March, Amy March, Margaret March
Word Count: 2555
Summary: AUs “Laurie marries Amy, but sometimes he wonders.“ 3 woman Laurie doesnt marry and one he does.
Why I Rec This Fic: I love the gentleness for all of the girls, not only for Beth and Jo who are maybe easier to acess for fandom but also for Meg and Amy, finding what people can love in them, their strenghts and weaknesses. This fic also gave me trans girl Laurie feels and in that light i may be able to ship Laurie/Jo.
They marry in the garden of Orchard House, where Laurie remains once the day is done. Beth is bright and strong for a time. She teaches Laurie how to sew, which he finds frightfully difficult.
Christmas comes but when it goes, so does Beth.

Why I Rec this Fic: Aromantic Jo!
