Why I Rec This Fic: One of BB99 strenghts is the diversity in the main cast, and given that this little bits are too different expierinces about being trans and reading that just made me happy (and tear up).

They pack her off to ballet academy, citing disciplinary issues and a tendency for violence. It isn't much better there, what with kids and adults being cruel, but ballet gives her strength, gives her discipline, offers her a space where she can simply be without worrying about anything else. When she performs, Rosa sometimes thinks she could do this for the rest of her life, but.
It's a pretty big but. Something in her craves more. Something in her thinks of all the taunts she's endured since the beginning and she still clenches her fists, still has to repress the urge to punch a wall. Didn't she deserve better than that? Didn't everyone and anyone who had to go through the same?
She wants to protect people. She wants to give children something to look up to, hold on to. And maybe she can do that with Swan Lake, but maybe there's another way, too.

She’s only about halfway through catching him up on his first day out sick from work—because it took her a while to get through summarizing her list of affirmations for that morning including “You are a powerful witch that the village is too afraid to accuse,” and “Aphrodite has been painting your image for her entire, immortal life, as something to aspire to.” Eventually, he’s sitting up next to her on the edge of the bed with his feet on the floor.
“You’re doing great.”
“Another affirmation?”
