Why I Rec This Fic: Old useless lesbians! Domesticity! slow burn but not in a painful burning way but in the quite way of realizing but not really that you are in love (the way this handles their background, very rual very religious without any homophobia but with this guardedness (and the way that contrast with Rachels (self) image as someone who speaks her mind all the time) to quote the authors tag: "maybe in another like three years they'll work up to spooning".
The non flashy humor: "boston is an exotic and scandalous location essentially indistinguishable from the fires of hell"!

Why I Rec This Fic: Their way of speaking is captured perfectly, its sadder more in direction of unrequired then i like for this ship normaly but it is written wonderful and the casual respect it has for Anne not being the kind of person who can love just one, won me over.

Why I Rec this Fic: Lesbian Diana Barry is important to me, and the queer vibes go even harder in the show, this poor girl breaks my heart, I want her to be happy but it was not in the cards.

It isn’t true, but it makes her eyes brighten and balms the malignant ache in her chest. They can pretend like children, play at a story without beaus and expectations. It’s more fantastical than all of their stories about fairies and dragons and knights, but out of all their shared compositions, Diana likes it best.

Why I Rec this fic: This two deserve all the fluff they can get, made me happy.

The first letter, a little surprisingly, is from Green Gables. Matthew writes it, his shaky hand obvious in the ink of his words. It’s short and sweet, very Matthew –  he hopes that they’re well and asks what their life is like in Paris – but the lack of Marilla is apparent to both of them as they read it, and the empty space of it spells out her disappointment in Anne.

Anne writes a long letter back, and Diana asks that she include a small note to Jerry. It’s not much beside an apology for how stupid and selfish Diana had acted toward him. I hope you can forgive me for my mistakes and that we can still continue to be friends. She’s concerned he won’t accept it, but it’s all for not when there is a slip in the next envelope Matthew sends with Jerry’s loopy and childish handwriting covering it. It is no worry Diana. I understand now about you and Anne. I am glad she makes you happy. Elle est ton vrai amour.
