-kind of stuck with my vidding right now, even if i have worked on one of my music video - colour - projects the last few days. 
-the worst part of making fanvid is cutting the source which i need to do for a lot of ideas i have right now
-the last few days i have rewatched on of my earlier fanvids that i never posted because i hated it a day after finsihing it, and now i love it, which is super weird, it is still not what i wanted to make, but it fills me with cheesy otp feels - the problem i have with it is/was that there is none (0!) vids to this pair and it really deserve something better then this as the first one,

Yeah, cutting the source is the worst.

There’s a thing I’m kinda stalled on for the moment (I need footage of characters in two episodes that won’t air until December and January, which is kinda frustrating). I might end up revisiting an idea I was working on a while ago in the meantime (I didn’t get very far with that one since I was a bit overwhelmed by the idea of working with multiple sources).

I’m kinda curious about that vid. A significant amount of vids I made were because I couldn’t find any about a pairing/character/source, and while there’s a bunch of things I would do differently with the early ones, I still like them.

You may have noticed most of my vids so far are for fandoms where i have not seen many/any ones beside mine, the ones in bigger fandoms (or even just still active sources which would my Hawaii 5 0 and my Final Fantasy 15 vid) focus on things that i have not seen discused in fandom - and I tots agree i made this because no one else did, because i needed an outlet for this emotions I have for them and no one did provide it, part of me also made them hopeing a tiny bit someone would see them and response with their emotions about the subjects maybe even work on their own fanwork for it.
So why does this vid makes me problems? I do not think I am extraordinary clever or creative but I like to think my vids have something to offer even if you were not previous hyper invested in my theme or maybe even if one is unfamilar with the source at all - but this one is a clichee cheesy shipping vid - it is edited to a mainstream pop song - as said it gives me the feels but i know 2 other people who shipped this and the fanwork they produced for them (7 fics under 3000 words and a long fic that is now no longer aviable online but they send me a document cop) was way better in quality then mine. It is a self-indulgent twaddle and even if i just accept i never will post it anywhere the existense gives me a heart/headache because i wanted this ship to have good (self-indulgent) things - it is just one of the fandom things i am unessary emotional about.
On a more logical side the video has this feel of building up to something but does not come to a payoff that feels deserved because the end of them in canon is incredible sad (and source typical bloody) and i wanted to make myself something happy so thats not in there.

I adore reading and watching cliché and cheesy stuff for some fandoms and pairing.

I sometimes need to remind myself of this when I’m working on a vid.

Canon can be really frustrating, especially for vidding (like while a lot can be done via editing and rearranging stuff, it’s still irritating when the footage for something you want to do just isn’t there)

yeah the mass of my lovefor clichee & cheesy stuff is undeniable, and that link is great something I really need to remeber.
Sometimes I am so sure that this scene must exist somewhere but it was only in my head....
anyway, thanks for this answers, they really cheered me up! maybe i will post my vid one day

I empathize with going back to an old vid I didn't think was good when I was making it and discovering that I now like it. That happens a lot to me- when I'm deep in the process all I can see are the flaws, and only after I've had time away from the vid can I enjoy the good parts.
