Why I Rec This Fic: Huddling for warmth! Found families! - Post apocalyptic fluff!

Kyle rolled his eyes again. “I don’t know where you’ve been hiding the last fifteen years but you seem to lack some basic survival skills so get in.”
Marcus approached gingerly but once he was close enough Kyle snatched his wrist and pulled him down, pushing him over so that Star was in the middle between them. Kyle was a lot stronger than he looked. He hooked a leg behind Marcus’ knee so that he could pull them closer together. It was the most human contact Marcus had in, well, years one way or another.

Why I Rec This Fic: Despite the hetronormative ways the movie means to tell the story, I do like bits about the campfire scene, and the character I see in Blair, this strenght in kindness is something I want to see more (fic) of.

Why I Rec This Fic: Canon may think of Kate Brewster first as wife/“women of fertile age“ – but she is so much more then that, she is second in command to John Conner, and an important person of the Resistance – and fanwork picking up on this kind of sidelined stories/characters is what I love it for.

They called woman who emerged from Crystal Mountain Kate Connor.
She wasn't his wife – Kate Brewster and John Connor never married. If a ceremony had been possible then - if he'd asked - Kate would have said no, not when she still looked for her fiancee's face in every group of refugees; not while John searched for faces of his own.
