Why I Rec This Fic: I think there is some real cool world building concept, and unlike other dark twist this is not a tragedy as it is not about the loss of agency but instead someone having some beyond their grave – I find that easier to read.

Why I Rec This Fic: Tiana and Lotties relationship is one of the highlights from the movie, and this fic has their voices down perfectly. I love stories about people teaching others. I love how Lottie is not just a shallow idiot in this, and Tia sees that.

They dance around the kitchen as the shrimp boils, laughing all the while, and Tiana can’t think of anything better than having a good time with someone you love while something hot simmers on the stove. Home, her heart sings out in time with the trumpets.
