 Fa Mulan was beautiful, and Li Shang was handsome, and that was the most that was said about the ceremony itself in official circles.

Why I Rec This Fic: I think there is some real cool world building concept, and unlike other dark twist this is not a tragedy as it is not about the loss of agency but instead someone having some beyond their grave – I find that easier to read.

 At first, it is only drinking water and cooking water, and the people dig wells, and it is enough.

And then spring and the snowmelt comes, and the rice paddies fill with darkness.
