Why I Rec This Fic: Axel and Jim are my fav thing we get introduced to in S3, they are both very interesting characters and admirable brave souls. This had me choking up, I love characters putting duty first, finding and fighting for a cause, i love couples who respect eachothers choices and strenghts and a bit of tragedy and suddenly I want all kind of stories about them in that world.(And the line: „Walls go up, travel gets hard.“ gets extra bang! With Trump and his politics.)

The city of Neo-Domino is a microcosm of the world— or maybe, the other way around: it happens one place, it happens everywhere. Walls go up, travel gets hard. The world gets hard— gap cleaved between the rich and poor gets cemented in rules, border checks.

Ignis rises up from the ground in one fluid motion, graceful like a flower or some shit. Gladio really likes watching him move around; Gladio’s also pretty bad at hiding it, if Ignis’ blush is anything to go by. That’s also a really good look. He gets his lance and sticks it firmly into the ground in the center of the grassy patch, then backs a couple yards away.
“If this is just your jumping off the roof thing, I don’t need to see it again.”
Ignis ignores him, the way he apparently needs to a lot of the time so he doesn’t stop hanging out with Gladio. Gladio’s pretty sure now that the whole kissing thing’s a thing, Ignis is just pretending to get fed up, but he’s also pretty sure he doesn’t get to do the kissing thing if he doesn’t play along. The kissing thing is important, and Gladio’s real good at playing along.

Why I Rec This Fic: Writing the fic focusing on Gladios perspective is such an interesting choice, there is some wonderful banter and the bittersweet mood is set wonderful.

Ignis gives a soft, surprised little laugh. "If it please Your Highness," he says, and the use of Noct's old title makes Gladio's heart skip a beat. If he'd closed his eyes it could be fifteen years ago, Noct taking Ignis by the sleeve and absconding with him on official business, straight-faced and serious like like it wasn't blatantly obvious what the two of them were planning on doing, like Noct hasn't been dragging Ignis into darkened corridors and empty rooms since Gladio was old enough to wear his family's crest.

Why I Rec This Fic: Its not my usual Han/Lando dynamic but this fic is great great fun. Chewie is perfect and has despite hanging with the biggest loser of the galaxy the time of his life because he just loves to say „I told you so“. Also there is quite a bit Wookie linguistic nerd-y so if thats not a selling point, what is? And Lando & Chewie friendship, thats great too.

Han and Chewie have worked out a thing, where Chewie goes along with what Han says will happen, and then, when it doesn’t, Chewie will mop up the pieces of what does, in fact, happen, and save both their lives, and only growl I told you so maybe six to eight times when they’re safely back on the Falcon and everyone’s bleeding has been safely patched up; and, if while all this is happening, they come across any Wookiees who are in need of help, then Chewie can drop everything to go help them, and Han will not bitch, and he will provide back-up or explosives or at least stand at a safe distance yelling “bang” in what is intended to be a helpful manner.

When Phil was twenty-eight, both his parents died in a car crash, and it was like whatever had been holding him to the conventional life had been severed with it. Richard doesn’t know, can never know, that SHEILD had contacted him before. That Phil was twenty-six and in an undisclosed location on a mission that never happened and everything that could go wrong did, and Phil, covered in the blood of the commanding officer he couldn’t save, single-handedly got his unit the hell out of dodge. And Phil had said no then because he couldn’t lie to his parents.
But he could lie to Richard.
Phil’s not really proud about that, but he’s honestly not that ashamed either.

Why I Rec This Fic: I read all of the fic in one setting instead of sleeping last december and it made my "day“ when i was having a crappy time.
It is much more explicit then most fic i like to read but also so super funny (obvious biased narrator even in the footnotes! it has footnotes! (i love footnotes!), even the idiots having named their genitals was not off putting (really the way sex is written fits the characters, and was even kind of charming/endearing - basically this kids are so in love (old married couple) and it had me dying)
