From what I’ve read, it sounds like ghost frames are particularly difficult to deal with in Windows Movie Maker (I haven’t actually used Windows Movie Maker myself - mostly because I didn’t have it on my computer for some reason?). I think most of the reason I end up being able cut to the beat is by looking at the audio peaks in whatever song I’m using at the time.
I think the second to last scene works very well, even without context (the last time I watched Hawaii 5-0 on a regular basis was during season 1, and my memory of various plot arcs is a bit hazy).
