thanks for this comment, it made me so happy (i am having a few bad days again so its like the best time for that!) i am really a boit proud of some of the fading/flashes in this so i am glad that i did their work.
Lana del rey songs have this ... teenage rebellion + tired sadness, there is this world full of self medication, gambling, abusive relationships (often romantic, some family) - and the dream of making it big that is not rooted in a fair chance in society but luckying out (gamble, stardom etc) - while also being like "yeah i like it like that" to everyone specialy oneself - i think that makes them interesting even if its not a way i want to live/romanticise. (its a dying heartland, working class, lifestyle in a differnt way then the Kinks (i vid them in "Red Things" were i twist song intention too) or Springsteen etc.) The "innocent" connection with Wash was something i liked in canon, the vid follows up with "in the land of gods and monsters/i was an angel" with two scenes in the medibay, Wash losing his cool when she is hurt and and the "redemptation" of the Wash/Mal/Zoe conflict with both of them smiling at Mal who wakes up in the medibay. yeah the "fucked" hard is definitly not meant in a sexual way, but as the next follow up, she sticks with him, she is glad that she has him, that she can share their trauma together as she is glad that Wash can not. i once saw a beautiful graphic with her "a hero is someone who gets other people killed" quote using wash death and her scene when she tells mal ,held together but harsh, "she is torn up plently but she will fly." lana del rey songs are occasionly self aware about the undesirable-ness of their situation but still being unable to quit: unhealthy, coping mechanism and love.
i liked what you said about the "garden of evil" line, i always liked stories about petty criminals/robin hood/underdog things. "gds death" with the gun shot at the security camera, has for me this bit of "and i shot him"- (i really want to see some fanworks that deal with her religiousity/faith- but beside that) "gd" is also a bit of a stand in for any of this authority here.
super yes to the "could i be your baby" thing, i have not yet found any fanworks about Zoe and the other female characters (there are a few Inara/Kylee thing and that great but i want more)
yes Zoes outside look is very stotic which is funny because she reads to me as a person who base a lot of her actions in emotions, not logic or law as said. and the inside of the mind look was what i was going for.
again thanks for the comment, and sorry if i am not making much sense/repeating myself i am not feeling great heal/mind-stuff.
(also love your icon i have to look for icons too. i just do not know where to start at all)
